Knoxville’s Market Square started as a place for local farmers to share their produce with the locals, and the Farmer’s Market remains a primary draw. Open every Wednesday and Saturday in May through November, you can expect to find locally grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, eggs, honey, herbs, meats, and artisan crafts all in a family-friendly and exhuberant atmosphere. Since everything for sale in the Farmer’s Market is grown or made locally in East Tennessee, every week you visit you’re likely to see something new and amazing.
Of course, while you’re in Downtown Knoxville, there are plenty of other sights to see beyond the Market. For that, our special Veggie Valet will hold your purchases while you enjoy the excellent food and attractions surrounding the area. When you’re ready to head home, you can pick up your purchases directly from your car. Now you can enjoy your pick of the crop bright and early without having to carry around those heavy eggplants as you enjoy the rest of the city!
Every Saturday before Christmas in December, the Market returns with a bit of a holiday twist: the early afternoon sees many of the same fresh meat, eggs, and dairy from the summer market along with root vegetables, greens, and hydroponically grown produce that can either beat or stomach the weather. In the later afternoon and stretching into the evening, you can enjoy special crafts and artisan foods sure to bring you some holiday cheer.
